Edge has no setting for it, and YouTube’s website only offers to show you fewer Shorts. To turn them off in Edge, add FeedCut from Edge Add-ons. Shorts are hidden from the moment it’s installed: the shelf on Home, the Shorts tab, and Shorts in search, Subscriptions and on channel pages. Links to Shorts open in the normal player.
Coming soon to Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera · Free · No account
Hide Shorts is on by default in a real install. Flip it in the panel to see the shelf come and go.

Install FeedCut from Edge Add-ons and reload YouTube. Hide Shorts is already on. Allow it in InPrivate if you use private windows, and install it in every Edge profile you use.
Click Get, then Add extension. If you’d rather use the Chrome Web Store, Edge asks once to allow extensions from other stores.
The Shorts shelf and the Shorts tab are gone.
From the Extensions menu. The Hide Shorts switch lives in its panel if you ever want them back.

edge://extensions → Details under FeedCut → Allow in InPrivate. The same panel has switches for the Home feed, Up next and comments, and a Block channel button on every video. Hiding Shorts but leaving the Home feed on can just move the scrolling one row down; turning both off makes YouTube open to a search box. See hiding recommendations for what each switch removes.
No. Edge has no YouTube settings, and YouTube’s website only offers “Show fewer Shorts”. The Shorts feed limit exists in the YouTube app, not in the browser.
Not with the switch, which removes all Shorts. If only some bother you, leave Hide Shorts off and block those channels instead.
