A regular YouTube account has no block button. Here is what you get out of the box, and what FeedCut adds.
| What you want | YouTube on its own | With FeedCut |
|---|---|---|
| Stop seeing a channel on Home | Shown less“Don’t recommend channel” is a hint, not a block | Gone |
| Stop seeing it in search | NoIts videos still show up | GoneVideos and the channel itself |
| Stop seeing it in Up next and comments | No | Gone |
| Hide videos by word | No | YesIn titles and channel names |
| Turn Shorts off on a computer | NoThe Shorts feed limit is only in the phone app, and you can dismiss it | One switchOn from the first minute |
| Hide the Home feed or comments | No | One switch each |
| See what you blocked, undo one | NoOnly “clear all feedback” | YesA list with Unblock buttons |
| Lock settings with a PIN | No | Yes, free |
Each block works across the whole site, not just the page you’re on.
One press and the channel disappears from Home, search, Up next and comments. Its comments under other videos go too.
Block YouTube channels KeywordsAdd “prank”, “drama” or the show you haven’t watched yet. Videos with those words in the title or channel name vanish.
Block keywords ShortsThe shelves, the Shorts tab and Shorts in search. A /shorts link opens in the normal player, so there is no endless swipe.
Hide YouTube Shorts FeedHide the Home feed, recommendations and comments. Come for one video, leave after one video.
Hide recommendationsA tired evening or a curious kid can’t undo your blocks without the PIN. Free for everyone.
“No politics”, “No pranks”, “For kids”. Turn one on in a click, then add or remove channels as you like.
Reliability
Most blockers hide boxes on the page. When YouTube moves the boxes, blocked videos slip back in. FeedCut removes them from the data YouTube sends, before the page is drawn, so they never show up — not even for a blink.
There is nothing to configure. Shorts are hidden from the moment you install.
From the Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons or Opera add-ons. No account, no sign-up.
Hover any video on YouTube and press Block channel. Channel pages get the button too.
Type a few words, or switch on a ready-made list. Change your mind? Unblock is one click.
Bring your list with you: export it from the old extension, import it into FeedCut, and your channels and words are blocked again, now in comments and search too. See the BlockTube and Channel Blocker guides.
Privacy
What you block says a lot about you. FeedCut keeps it in your browser and does not collect what you watch.
No limit on channels or words, no account, no ads.
Yes. Every feature is free, with no limit on channels or words: Shorts, the Home feed, comments, spoiler mode, ready-made lists, the PIN lock, import and export. No account, no ads.
No. FeedCut hides things on your screen only. Nothing is sent to YouTube or to the channel, and your Google account is not touched.
“Don’t recommend channel” is feedback: YouTube shows the channel less often on Home, but its videos still appear in search and elsewhere, and there is no list to undo one channel. FeedCut removes the channel from Home, search, Up next and comments, keeps a list, and unblocking takes one click.
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera on Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS. Brave, Vivaldi and other Chromium browsers install it from the Chrome Web Store.
No. FeedCut is a browser extension, so it works on youtube.com in a desktop browser. It does not change the YouTube apps for phones and TVs.
Not without the code: the PIN lock protects every setting and list. A browser always lets someone remove an extension, though, so think of FeedCut as a fence, not a safe.
No. FeedCut filters the data YouTube already sends to the page. It makes no extra requests and has no servers in the way.
Block channels, words and Shorts everywhere on YouTube. Free, no account, nothing leaves your browser.
